What Are They?
At Advanced Specialty Associates we are proud to offer Botox and Filler Injectables to our patients in the Baxter and Brainerd Lakes Area. Injectable treatments are designed to enhance your appearance and restore the skin’s vitality. These formulations can be customized to the unique needs of each patient, with options for smoothing away wrinkles, restoring facial volume, and enhancing facial contours. There are many different types of facial fillers and our nurse injector, Chandra, will recommend the best possible options specifically for you. Treatments are quick to perform and results can usually be seen right away. Some fillers last from many months to years, before a touch-up treatment is required, although it depends on the location of the face that is treated.
How Do They Work?
Facial fillers can be injected in just a few minutes, right in the comfort of our office in Baxter. The depth of the injection will depend on the specific treatment area. Some formulas for the injections contain lidocaine to ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure. Sensitive areas may also require a topical numbing cream prior to the treatment.
What Can I Expect From My Injectables Results?
Results from injectable treatments can be seen right away and will improve in the days following the procedure. Treated areas will look smoother with a visible reduction in lines and wrinkles. Youthful volume will be restored, adding definition to key areas like the cheekbones, lips and jawline. Facial fillers typically last 6-12 months, although some of the newer formulas such as Restylane or Radiesse may last even longer before a touch-up procedure is needed.

Meet Our Nurse Injector, Chandra!
Chandra began working with Dr. Waters in 2012, initially as an LPN. Over the years, she began to focus on the aesthetic side of the clinic and received an Associate of Applied Science in May of 2017, while also being an apprentice of Dr. Waters on injectables. Chandra has advanced training in Dysport and Restylane fillers including Lyft, Refyne/Defyne, as well as Botox, Juvederm, Voluma, Volbella and Vollure. Knowing that the Brainerd Lakes area has a conservative population, she focuses on softening fine lines, adding volume and minimizes the signs of aging, without her patients looking “over done” or have the “frozen look”. Chandra is also trained in Cool Sculpting for body contouring. As a trained injector, she takes the time to visit with her patients and discuss their goals, educate patients about products and uses her aesthetic eye to ultimately help them achieve natural looking results by enhancing their natural beauty. “Seeing patients smile a bigger smile or hold their head a little higher because they feel more confident is one of my favorite parts of the job!”
